Now we all love a bit of sauce to flavour up a dish (well I do) and most of the time its easy to just grab a bottle from the supermarket shelf. I admit I don’t always make my own sauces but what we don’t realise is it can be oh so simple. Usually we will have the necessary ingredients laying in cupboard or fridge, tomato puree, soy sauce, garlic, paprika, oregano, maple syrup, chili powder and Apple cider vinegar. Okay okay maybe you only have a few but you catch my drift, so grab your ingredients, a bowl, a few spoons and get mixing…..
Heads up this recipe only makes a small amount for dipping or marinating, so double up tomato puree, tamari, ACV and add more of the spices to make larger amount of sauce….
INGREDIENTS
4 tbsp Tomato puree
2 tbsp Tamari (soy sauce works too but Tamari is gluten free & less salty)
2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
1 tbsp Maple syrup
1 tsp Oregano
1 tsp Smoked Paprika
1/2 tsp Chili Powder
Add to a bowl, whisk and adjust the spices to personal taste.
Hey presto you got a quick easy homemade bbq sauce, use this to dip your chips in or marinate your tofu.
It is as simple as that so go get saucy 🙂
