So for the lovelies that follow me on Instagram already know that a bowl of jazzed up porridge is kinda my thang. Whether it is oats or buckwheat with Chia seeds sprinkled, mountain of banana or dollops the of nut butter, there is something quite satisfying about a warm bowl of porridge. Doesn’t matter if it summer porridge is yummy anytime of year.
So here I am giving you a quick simple 5-10 minute delish recipe for you to throw together and enjoy!!!!
1 cup Plant milk (almond,rice,coconut or hemp)
1/2 cup Oats (I blend my oats down so they are finer) or Buckwheat flakes*
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1 tbsp Chia seeds (good for protein and omega 3)
Optional 1 tbsp Coconut palm sugar
1 tbsp Nut butter (almond, peanut or hazelnut)
1 tbsp Hemp hearts (protein)
1 tbsp Maple syrup
Tips : Buckwheat flakes are a great alternative if you need your porridge to be gluten free.
If you want a bigger bowl of porridge use 1 cup of oats and more liquid.
HOW TO MAKE
Take whatever fruit you wish and chop it up into chunks and put aside.
Then grab a pot and add your plant milk, cinnamon and oats or buckwheat mix and bring to the boil this should take under 5 minutes. I like my porridge quick thick so add more plant milk or water if needed to adjust to how you like it.
Once cooked put it in a bowl sprinkle and top with whatever your heart desires.
