Introduce yourself….

My name is Joel Clarke I’m currently studying to be a personal trainer and my biggest passion is to help guide others in to a healthier and more natural life style.

How long have you been vegan for?

I have been vegan for about 6/7 months now, I had been a vegetarian most my life growing up but the decided to start eating fish for about 5 years. I  then started researching about foods and ingredients in our everyday foods and what kind of foods are bad for our bodies. I got deep into it then I decided to go vegan as it wasn’t hard for me at all making that transition. I grew up not eating meat or fish so I had no attachment or addiction what so ever, but so many other people do.

Who are your vegan influences?

I can’t say I have any vegan influences, I just think we as a people do not need to consume unnatural foods.

 What’s your fave food?

My favourite food/dish is tofu and vegetable stir fry, as you can just throw things in and mix it up experiment a little with different flavours which are easy to add in.

What’s your main source of protein? Or what food do you find gives you energy?

My main source of protein is tofu I also eat a variety of beans and peas with my meals, I eat a lot of spinach too which gives me a lot of energy.

What your biggest challenge being a vegan?

My biggest barrier being a vegan is making sure I get enough calories through out the day, as I am a natural bodybuilder. I also find it challenging eating out with friends and family, as we have to constantly find different places to eat as I can’t eat the same foods they do. I still find it quite difficult finding out what I can and can’t eat but I’m still learning so it doesn’t bother me at all.

What is your biggest accomplishment while being a vegan?

My biggest accomplishments being vegan is that I have learned a lot about myself, I have more self control and I’ve become a healthier person. I am especially happy with the fact that I’ve managed to maintain a good physique whilst on a vegan diet. this shows that someone can look just as good on a vegan diet as someone who consumes animals produce.
