Starting Your Mornings!!

PhotoGrid_1440051708409

So lately I have switched up how I have been starting my mornings, I am in my third year of healthy eating and 1 year 8 months into being vegan. So it is about that time to change things and introduce even more new ways to my lifestyle.

First of all I have been starting off first thing before I eat anything with 1 litre of warm water with fresh lemon and ginger. This helps to hydrate my body because after sleeping for 7 hours (which means your body is fasting) your body needs WATER, it also helps with digestion and to get everything working!!

I have been eating a lot more fruit and typically at the start of the day, fruit for breakfast is AMAZING. I have been doing what you call a MONO MEAL (this is when you eat one thing in mass) and it great because it is easy to digest. Eating fruit for breakfast gives you that energy you need to start your day, it also helps you to feel awake and alert. Most people rely on coffee to wake them up which is not good, because it is a stimulant and won’t give you that long lasting energy needed.

I highly recommend drinking water and eating fruit first thing, if you don’t want to take my word for it then why not try it!!

Go get fruity haha 🙂 !!!

Body Transformation Update 2014!!

before and after

Okay lets get straight to it this ISH is crazy I am not even going to lie!!!

I don’t even know where to begin this picture above provokes all types of thoughts and feelings.

Being on the bigger side for my teenage years and most of my twenties I wouldn’t say was the worst thing ever but it did cause obstacles for me. I have always had confidence and known how to present myself no problem, but being in a body you’re not 100% happy with isn’t good. Hiding you arms, covering your legs and dreading wearing a bikini in summer is not the way to be living life. Feeling like you can’t wear revealing clothing if you chose to and feel sexy or that your body wouldn’t be appealing to a man. When you live life full of boundaries and limitations you stop yourself from experiencing to your full potential.

When I look at that picture of me on the beach in my bikini in Jamaica I find it very hard to believe what my eyes are seeing. At the time I remember feeling pretty alright in my bikini that day and although I did attract a man lol, point being is that I know I wasn’t 100% happy with what I saw. It is a very emotional thing to look at a picture of yourself firstly not recognize that person and secondly just be in complete shock. I always knew I was a bigger lady but at the time I never saw myself how  see myself now looking back. Its like someone went and photo shopped all of my pictures!!

oct before and after

So January 2015 will mark two years since I first started my healthier and fitter lifestyle. I not only decided to change the way I looked at food, treated my body, but also the way I thought mentally a long with my approach to life.  I wanted to be more open, laid back and inspirational it was my mission to achieve succeed and be able to share my experiences. I am no where near finished or done in my journey but I am damn sure proud of myself for how far I have come.

I am just an example of whatever you want it is yours for the taking, take both hands and grab it just do NOT let go!!!

Till next time keep it moving!!

Healthy Lifestyle Update 2014!!

leah7

Hey y’all… So its been a over a year since I decided to change my life forever and I haven’t looked back ever since. I have spent the last year or so just learning about food, my body and building a new relationship with all elements of ME. I am still adjusting to this new trimmer body of mine and it is a very very VERY big change to get used to. I have since stopped weighing myself as I think that you can become obsessive over how much you weigh and I don’t calorie count as it drove me nuts.

EXERCISE

So since my update in December 2013 I have increased how active I am, I workout at the gym 3 to 4 times a week. As I have lost so much weight and would like to tone up, I have now increased the amount weights I use. Let me just say anyone that goes to the gym on a regular basis will know how addictive that place can be. I love knowing that each time I workout I approve become stronger fitter and even more focused. Being fit and healthy is one of the BEST feelings in the world especially when you are doing things you could never do before.

 FOOD

We can’t forget the most important and vital part to a healthy lifestyle FOOD!!

My lifestyle has transitioned from cutting out certain food items to a fully fledged vegan, I am experimenting with food and I always will. I am enjoying every minute of discovering new recipes and new foods everyday. My food choices are ones that make me feel good, that I enjoy and will want for the rest of my life. The key to my success in losing weight and maintaining it, is to not deprive yourself but to find alternatives. I still eat cake and the things considered naughty but that is because I find ways to have them that are more beneficial to my body.

My body will never be perfect but it is AMAZING and so worth it…..

I still have a long way to go but I am so up for it considering how far I have come!  For any of you that are out there on a path to a better lifestyle and just a better YOU, stay strong and ENJOY!

We only have one life and one body so treat it right and keep it TIGHT!!
