Transitioning!

Transitioning is no joke and for you ladies who are on that journey you know how hard it is to be caught between two places CURLY GROWTH Vs STRAIGHT ENDS!!! Believe me the straight end look is not cute but there are many ways to over come that. I think whether you BC (big chop) or transition its just as hard as you are getting to know your natural hair.

Me going natural was never on purpose so I kind of accidently transitioned for about 7 months (I think). I then decided to wear my hair au natural no heat what so ever. Now as most of my hair curls and then I have those straight ends lurking, all I want to do is chop them off. But I stay strong and I find ways to make them look like the rest of my hair.

Staple Hair Products (I hope so)

I thought it was about time I gave you a lil low down on my staple products at the moment. Even though I am still (6 months later) fine tuning my tried and true, I have already found a few gems that are here to stay.

Curls Unleashed Lavish in Lather Sulphate Shampoo – This shampoo right here is the love of my life from the first time I touched her I knew she was going to be mine (yes I am still talking about shampoo).  This is my FAVE well my only shampoo I don’t think I can give this shampoo enough props. I’m telling you I have never used a shampoo that moisturises so much that you don’t need to follow up with a conditioner, detangles with a few strokes of my fingers and cleans my my hair without stripping. This shampoo does lather up quite a bit but I do like this as I feel my hair is getting a good clean. This shampoo which I have already done a review on I would reckon to any curly!

Denman Brush – THIS BRUSH IS A MUST believe it or not it defines your curls nicely with a few strokes. The best time to use this brush is when your hair is wet loaded with product. Hands down this beats the wide tooth comb any day.

Coconut Oil – I love me some coconut oil and ever since I got this BARGAIN of buy a tub get one for a penny at Holland & Barrett I was sold sold sold. The only things that put me off about this oil is that it is hard and you can’t really pour it. But as soon as it goes in your hand its melts instantly and it goes onto your hair nicely. Now if my research is correct most oils are made of BIG molecules so they just coat the hair and act as a barrier to lock in moisture? Coconut Oil the molecules are smaller so they can actually penetrate the hair which is bonus.

So for now the journey continues hopefully ill be back soon with more tried and trues!!!

Live it, try it, use it and don’t waste it!!

Wash day routine!!

Now who looks forward to wash day?? not me I mean I love love love my HAIR if you didn’t know already. That whole fresh set of curls and clean slate is great but I think sometimes I’m just LAZY. Now it has took some time but I have sussed out a routine that doesn’t take too long and 90% of the time I get the results I want.

Just thought I would show my wash routine in the different stages so here it goes!!

Just about to wash my hair from a 3 or 4 day old twist out.

My hair all freshly washed now loaded with conditioner sitting on my hair nicely.

I rinse my hair until all the conditioner is out and then its time to put on MR TURBIE, don’t I look sexy!!

So once some of the water has gone from my hair I section my into four and clamp them with clips.

I then apply my leave in, styler and oil to seal.

I always twist my hair when its washed if I don’t I end up with BIG FRIZZ we likey frizz but not straight away.

I put my hair in two large twists at the back on either side and then two flat twists at the front either side.

Then in the morning I rub coconut oil on my hands and separate my twists and fluff!!

aquí estamos

Here is one I made earlier 🙂

I usually get the same results every time except the past two washes (don’t ask) providing I don’t change my products too much its all good.

Since I was determined to learn how to flat twist I was doing it in no time it definitely gives me more definition in the front of my hair where the curls aren’t as tight.

Products used for this wash: Curls unleashed lavish in lather shampoo, Beautiful Textures rapid repair, Beautiful Textures leave in, Beautiful Textures moisture butter, As I am double butter and coconut oil.

Remember routines are good so long as you see progress within in them.

Love yourself and say it with me BIG HAIR I DON’T CARE!

P.S I promise I do smile so don’t mind the pouting face :p
